We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to join our team as a member of the Chief Data Officer (CDO) office. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing compliance topics within our Product and Technology group, while ensuring alignment with our organization's overall Data & Data Governance strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for compliance matters within the Product and Technology group, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls specific to the Product and Technology group, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Work closely with the CDO and other members of the CDO office to ensure compliance initiatives throughout the organization align with the overall Data & Data Governance strategy.
- Stay up to date with evolving compliance regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends to provide proactive recommendations and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees on compliance requirements and promote a culture of compliance.
- Drive the process to achieve SOC II compliance (and other certifications in the future) for the Product and Technology group, working closely with internal stakeholders, third-party auditors, and other relevant parties.
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams to ensure a thorough understanding of SOC II compliance requirements and assist in the resolution of any compliance-related issues.
- Coordinate and oversee the testing and monitoring of controls to ensure ongoing compliance with SOC II requirements.
- Serve as the main point of contact for SOC II audits and act as a liaison between the organization and auditors.
- Serve as the liaison with the risk management and compliance functions across the group. This also includes regular alignment with the company’s DPO.
Required Skills/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Legal Studies, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) working in a compliance role, preferably within the technology industry.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant compliance regulations and frameworks, such as SOC II, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, ISO 27001, etc.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
- Experience developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and provide practical solutions.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Professional certifications in compliance or related areas (e.g., CIPP, CCEP) are a plus.
- Familiarity with technology platforms and digital products is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the insurance industry.
